September 2014

Hi everyone,
I’m posting this time to tell you about a new book which is now available on kindle. It was first written to be part of an anthology of short stories but is now available on amazon kindle singles for only 99pence : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Never-Learn-Knock-Kindle-Single-ebook/dp/B00NGKDO5E/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1410426500&sr=8-8&keywords=cathy+hopkins
Mum Never Did Learn to Knock is a short story with a twist about the relationship between a mother and a daughter. Emily has experienced a period of change and is adjusting to a new chapter in her life, one that she likes to talk over with her mother. Unfortunately, her father and counsellor think differently and are concerned about her state of mind. They believe that she needs to move on, something which Emily is finding difficult – until she meets a boy at school who understands where she’s coming from and is there to help her adjust to the changes.
Apart from that, I’ve finished the line edits on A Home For Shimmer and that will be out next February. I should have a cover to post soon and will put it on here as soon as I do.
Here in Bath, it’s been a busy weekend with the Tour of Britain cyclists whizzing through. Saturday was the day of the Grand Promenade where 501 people dressed up in Regency costume and walked the streets of Bath. It was really quite a spectacle (see picture above) and it is also featured in my last book, Playlist for a Broken Heart as there is a scene when the characters in the book join in with the walk. It happens every year and is great to go and watch.
Today is Monday, back to my desk. I am writing a new book which is still in the early stages. I’ll post more about it later.
Bye for now
Cathy
